After
the decition made by the Zagreb City Council, Professor Balthazar will become
a new City Mascot of Zagreb. The "Zagreb Film"
who own the royalty aprooved the planes and contribute with 20
new episodes. There is also a planes to build an Balthazar - Theme Park in the future.
Professor Balthazar is a cartoon series for children about an old inventor.
He was a kind scientist/inventor who solved every problem by walking around and around and around thinking and then... pling!! As soon as he had thought up the solution he rushed to his big machine added the right ingredients. The machine processed and processed and out came a few drops into his tube - the magic potion.
Professor Balthazar was created for television by the Croatian animator Zlatko Grgić at the Zagreb Film studio. 60 episodes of the cartoon was made between 1967 and 1971, and it has been shown in subsequent years in several countries including Denmark, Finland, Italy the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Sweden and Iran. It was also shown in the United States in the 1980s on Pinwheel as well as on the ABC in Australia.Zagreb Film is a Croatian film-producing company from Zagreb, founded in 1953. They have produced hundreds of animated films, documentaries, television commercials, educational films and several feature films.
